Projects

Summer/Fall- 2015
The Superhero Project successfully fundraised for several amazing donations to be made. In July and October of 2015, we held two sold-out events that were attended by many family, friends, former NICU parents and nurses who took care of our twins. Those events allowed us to make a $15,000 donation to Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, PA to purchase Angel Eye cameras for their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We also were able to donate almost 100 baskets to families in need filled with gift cards, crocheted baby items, care items and other small items needed to help families while being away from home. Our first NICU photography session donated by Kara McPeak for one lucky family was given as well.

Spring-2016
The Superhero Project held a beef and beer function that was another sell out event. Our event featured donations by many local food vendors including Applebees, Chickie and Petes, The Gourmet Vendor, Prima Cristina Cakes, The Samboni Boys, Undrgrnd Donuts and Volpe’s Original. We were able to host 2 more NICU photo session donated by EQ Images and Mom with a Lens photography that allowed two more lucky moms the chance at having a forever keepsake from their time spent in the NICU. Our organization began picking up some amazing press that included a news segment on 6ABC, the cover story on LifeLinks Magazine and articles featured in Philadelphia Business Journal, Preemie World, Montco Today and Odyssey. Kelly was asked to write a 3 part blog depicting her experience for Holy Redeemer Hospital and sharing her motivation for creating The Superhero Project.

Summer and Fall 2016
To celebrate the twins 2nd anniversary of graduating from the NICU, The Superhero Project was able to purchase and donate NICU graduation caps and gowns for babies who will also graduate in July. After being featured in the DeSales University Alumni magazine, Kelly also wrote a piece for Neonatal Intensive Care Awareness Month site. We secured our second hospital to adopt the Angel Eyes camera software and made a $5,000 donation to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Langhorne, PA. Our first Gift of Time Room was established at Holy Redeemer Hospital, a room dedicated to families going through infant loss at birth. We delivered baskets to families for Halloween and Thanksgiving.  We hosted Santa Claus in the NICU for families who were unable to leave the hospital with their babies.

Great things are happening with The Superhero Project. We do not let our babies start in life determine their finish, as all babies born small are almost certainly destined to be big!

Warm Regards,
