Our NICU Story

After birth, Asher was immediately transferred from St. Mary’s to Pennsylvania Hospital in the middle of a storm that included a tornado touching down in Bucks County. This is when we were introduced to the Angel Eye camera. Recovering in one hospital, with our new baby Asher in another, was not how any mom imagines her birth story. But with the Angel Eye camera, I was able to watch Asher, live on my phone at all times! This immediately made this set up a little less awful.

Asher spent 78 long days in the Pennsylvania Hosital NICU. Navigating this new NICU world and also caring for Asher’s one year old big brother, Dax, at home was challenging. Not being able to spend every minute with both kids was really difficult for us. The Angel Eye camera gave us so much more than we can put into words. We were able to be with Asher, even when we couldn’t be by his side. Our huge family would also keep tabs on Asher’s every move as well. He had a large fan base from the start with many who would check on him before going to bed just to say goodnight through a phone screen.

The Superhero Project has connected us to the NICU world forever. Giving back to this organization is just a small act to repay the amazing support the Angel Eye system gave to our family. This year, we hope to top last year’s donation of $10,729, as we host our 3rd Annual Ash Bash in honor of Asher and all the superheroes close to us!!
