HUNTER’S HEROES

Hunter Nicolas Dailey was born on April 20th, 2023 at 24 weeks and 5 days, he was 1 pound and 10 ounces. Hunter gave mom and dad one little cry and then was taken straight to the NICU at Holy Redeemer Hospital. Hunter was a fighter from the very beginning, all of his new “aunts” (the NICU nurses) made sure we knew how feisty he was.

Our NICU Story

From the moment he was born Hunter showed signs of progress and strength. One month after being born on May 20th, 2023 we were told that Hunter needed to be transferred to CHOP in order to receive more specialized attention from the doctors down there. After an ambulance ride with mom on I-95 and dad following behind he made it safely. After many sleepless night we were told that Hunter was diagnosed with meningitis. That didn’t stop Hunter’s fight, he continued to try and beat it and get better. Unfortunately Hunter lost that fight on July 5th 2023. We joined a club that no parent is prepared for, special visiting hours and only certain people allowed to meet our son was very hard to deal with. We hope to be able to help other parents that have to go through similar things that we went through.
